Greta 1970s-style sectional sofa at Urban Outfitters
Not a place I would readily associate with seating, but I love this Greta 1970s-style sectional sofa at Urban Outfitters.
Not that it hasn’t done seating in the past. It has. But we tend to think of clothing and gifts when we think of Urban Outfitters. In the US, furniture seems to be part of the core range, and I suspect, over time, it will be the same in the UK.
This is a great place to start too. A sofa that looks like it could be right out of the Conran House Book of the early to mid-1970s. And if you have an interest in that era, I would always recommend picking up a vintage copy of the House Book (but always make sure it is a 1970s version and not one of the later 1980s copies). It’s pretty much the bible of doable interior design from that time.
And as I said, this sofa would look the part in there and in any retro or 1970s-inspired home. There’s a hint of the iconic Ligne Roset Togo sofa about it whilst still being very much its own design.
Upholstered with what’s described as a non-woven polyester, this is a three-piece design featuring a two-seater sofa, three-seater sofa and corner piece, all covered with ‘pin-tucked’ cushions.
Use separately, but it really comes to life as a large corner unit for some family lounging. A very ‘70s shade of brown for the finish too. Sadly, it doesn’t come with that amazing fireplace, but with the right period finishes and fixtures, this will look a treat.
Fancy it? If you do, you will be looking at £1,749. I know, not cheap at all. But you are getting three designs here rather than just the one.
